SUMMARY
OVERVIEW
- The Reaching Impact, Saturation and Epidemic Control (RISE) project is funded by the Department of State to support malaria prevention, diagnosis, treatment, surveillance, and monitoring and evaluation activities across Mainland Tanzania and Zanzibar.
- Implemented in close collaboration with the National Malaria Control Programme (NMCP), the Zanzibar Malaria Elimination Programme (ZAMEP), and Prime Minister’s Office Regional Administration and Local Government (PMO-RALG) structures, the project strengthens alignment with national malaria strategies, improves service delivery quality, and enhances health system performance and resilience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide technical and logistics support to council team during the Targeted Mass Campaign (TMC) for ITN distribution in Lindi Region.
- Ensure that ITNs are accurately quantified during household registration, efficiently delivered, equitably distributed, safely managed, and effectively accounted for across distribution points.
- Support TMC implementation through logistics coordination, and participation in ITN receipt, verification, and distribution activities.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in the area of direct relevance to local government and community engagement including public administration, community development, health systems management, public policy advocacy or lower qualification with 6 years of progressive local government and community engagement experience.
- At least 5 years’ experience managing activity implementation at council level through local government structures. Experience working with CHMTs and WDCs preferred.
- At least 3 years’ experience managing donor-funded health programs in Tanzania. Working knowledge of USG is desirable.
