The African Cashew
Alliance (ACA) has been working on developing learning solutions for the
industry. As such we have developed a
number of eLearning and in-class training programs, which are being rolled out.
The ACA is the lead partner for the Master Training Program to enable us to
consolidate the learning programs as well as enhance the content with the
support from Market-Oriented Value Chains for Jobs & Growth in the ECOWAS
Region (MOVE). So far, 18 editions have been held already in which 1,344 experts
have been trained between 2014 and 2024. In order to prepare for and deliver
the 20th in East African for the year 2025, the African Cashew
Alliance (ACA) is seeking the services of qualified experts to serve in the
role of Facilitators for the MTP.
The aims of the MTP are to:

Create a
pool of qualified experts on the cashew value chain in West African and East
African Countries.

Facilitate
the regional exchange of knowledge, learning and innovation.
Required profile of the Lead
Facilitator
·
Should have an experience in adult
education, organisational development (Gestalt) and facilitation of large
groups.
·
Must have expertise on the above-mentioned
topics and understand the cashew value chain.
·
Must have a profound knowledge on
process facilitation and have experience in managing a very diverse cultural
group.
·
Have experience on training design,
concept and implementation; have experience in leading a group of facilitators.
·
knowledge of the Cashew sector and proficiency
in English language. (French language is considered an added advantage)
·
Previous experience as a facilitator
of a training module under the MTP or similar training adopting large systems
training concepts will be an advantage.
·

Consultancy description and
tasks
This
consultancy contract shall cover activities for the following training sessions.

The tasks are defined as follows:
1. Design
and share with Management of ACA a detailed implementation plan for the edition
and sessions.
2. Review
of some existing topics to suit the East Africa Region
3. Preparing
training needs assessment and profiling of Participants.
4. Design
appropriate training methods and modules to ensure the best results for all the
training Sessions
5. Plan
and prepare for each edition’s trainings sessions according to the event timetable
to ensure seamless transition from Edition to edition and session to session.
6. Review
and Validate training materials to be used for the sessions. Recommend
necessary changes as required.
7. Lead
Internal training/ teambuilding activities of the resources and logistics team.
8. Lead
the team of resource persons and teams during each of the 5-day training
sessions
9. Host
post training review sessions with the Resources and logistics team as well as
Management representatives of ACA.
10. Hold
debriefing sessions for management of ACA before, during and after each
training session.
11. Deliver
detailed final reports on each training session providing details on issues and
matters before, during and after the training with recommendations for
subsequent sessions.
12. Coordinate
the collection of Data and training of participants during intersession (In
between training sessions)
13. Provide
coaching to members of the Resources and logistics team during intersession.
Expected results:
Ø The Design of session 1; session 2
and session 3 of those of the 20th Edition are prepared.
Ø The resource and logistic team are
introduced into the training principles, the delivery process and roles and
responsibilities clearly defined.
Ø The one-week master training
programme per session for over 120 participants from more than 12 countries is
delivered to the satisfaction of the participants and ACA management.
Ø The resources, logistics and
management team to analyse the processes and results of the training and make
recommendations for the continuing training programme.
Ø A training report delivered at the
end of each session, as well as a 5-pager debriefing note to management of ACA.
Duration of contract:
The contract is from 21st
March 2025 to 30th October 2025 and to be performed in
Tanzania and Kenya. Within this period
all expected results of the consultancy must be finalized.
Application
process
Interested persons should send in their CV/Resumes and
a cover letter detailing all their experiences and qualifications relevant to
the tasks described. All received applications will be reviewed and scored
based on the required profile of the Lead facilitator as described above.
In Addition, all applicants must send as a separate
document a brief financial proposal detailing their approach to the tasks, the
number of days required for each task and the total days as well as their
quoted gross daily rate. Travel and per diem expenses will be covered
separately and should not be included in the proposal. The financial proposal
will not factor in the review and scoring of the applications, however, only
shortlisted applicants will be having their financial proposals considered. The
top two (2) applicants will be
selected and contracted as Lead
facilitator and Co-Lead facilitator
respectively.
