Job Description Employment opportunities – New Luika Gold Mine, Tanzania Shanta Mining Company Limited is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced medical professionals to join our Health and Community Department at New Luika Gold Mine. Senior Medical Doctor (1 post) Department: Health and Community Reports to: Occupational Health Manager Roster: 6 Weeks ON, 3 Weeks OFF Contract: Open Ended Role purpose To provide clinical leadership and comprehensive medical services including primary health care, emergency medicine, occupational health and public health, and to manage the on-site medical clinic and health programmes in line with Tanzanian laws and Shanta Gold standards. RESPONSIBILITIES

- Provide clinical leadership , diagnosis, treatment and management of all medical cases, including emergencies, trauma and occupational health conditions.

- Lead and coordinate the on-site medical clinic, ensuring compliance with Tanzanian laws, MCT

- Manage medical personnel and clinic operations including scheduling, training, performance management and leave planning.

- Develop and implement occupational health programmes , medical surveillance and statutory examinations in collaboration with HR.

- Lead emergency medical response , aeromedical evacuation and coordination with external medical facilities.

- Develop and implement public health programmes for employees and host communities (HIV/AIDS, TB, malaria, NCDs and others).

- Manage procurement, inventory and budget for medical supplies and pharmaceutical products.

- Maintain accurate medical records , reporting and statutory registers, and liaise with external medical providers and regulators.

- Provide project management support for all health initiatives and support to community health dispensaries.

- Any other duties as assigned by your supervisor/HOD.

- Minimum

QUALIFICATIONS

- and experience MBChB/MBBS or equivalent medical degree.

- Full registration and valid practising licence with the Medical Council of Tanganyika (MCT).

- At least seven (7) years’ post-internship clinical experience, of which at least three (3) years in an industrial, mining or occupational health setting.

- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS).

- Strong clinical, leadership and communication skills.

- Knowledge of Tanzanian health and occupational health regulations.

- Ability to work in a remote site environment and manage multidisciplinary teams.

- Occupational Health Nurse (1 post) Department: Health and Community Reports to: Mine Medical Doctor Roster: 6 Weeks ON, 3 Weeks OFF Contract: Open Ended Role purpose To provide high-quality nursing care, support occupational health service and assist in the implementation of health programmes to ensure the health safety and well-being of employees and contractors at New Luika Gold Mine.
