SUMMARY
OVERVIEW
- The ideal candidate will be well-organized and comfortable working with financial data.
- The Finance Officer will oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable, manage expense records, and perform other finance-related duties.
- Candidates should have excellent data-recording abilities and be capable of producing clear financial reports.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and post journals in the accounting system.
- Maintain accurate general ledger records.
- Prepare monthly bank, cash, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Assist in preparing management accounts and schedules.
- Support the preparation of VAT, PAYE, SDL, and withholding tax schedules.
- Maintain proper documentation for Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) filings.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and approval matrices.
- Support the accounts receivable and accounts payable clerk with reconciliations and issue resolution.
- Maintain proper filing and record-keeping systems for financial documents.
- Assist during internal and external audits.
- Ensure accurate data entry in Odoo.
- Support system improvements and process automation.
REQUIREMENTS
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- An accounting or finance certification, which will be an added advantage.
- Computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Good accounting and reconciliation skills.
- Working knowledge of Tanzanian tax requirements.
- Excellent financial reporting skills and experience using enterprise resource planning systems.
- Highly developed and proven oral, written, and presentation communication skills.
- Flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to multitask continuously.
