SUMMARY

OVERVIEW

- Enza Zaden Tanzania Ltd is a horticultural company that produces high-quality hybrid seeds.

- The company is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Plumber Technician.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair high-pressure piping systems, industrial water supply lines, drainage systems and pressurized fluid systems.

- Work on HDPE, PVC, galvanized steel, stainless steel and pressure-rated piping systems used in industrial or agricultural production environments.

- Carry out maintenance and repairs on pump systems, irrigation manifolds, pressure-regulating valves (PRVs), industrial valves and fittings, pump stations and distribution systems.

- Conduct pressure testing, leak detection, pipe threading, pipe fitting and system integrity inspections.

- Monitor and maintain pumps, compressors, valves, filters and related mechanical systems.

- Read and interpret technical drawings, plumbing schematics, piping layouts and maintenance schedules.

- Respond to emergency pipe bursts, pressure failures and mechanical breakdowns.

- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and technical maintenance protocols.

- Maintain maintenance records, spare-parts inventories and technical inspection reports.

REQUIREMENTS

- A diploma in Plumbing, Pipe Fitting, Mechanical Engineering or another related technical field.

- At least seven years of experience in a factory, industrial plant, processing facility, manufacturing environment or large-scale irrigation setup involving high-pressure systems.

- Strong knowledge of industrial piping systems, pressure pumps, industrial plumbing maintenance and pressure-testing procedures.

- Experience working with booster systems, compressors, industrial valves and fluid-transfer systems is highly preferred.

- The ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical faults independently.

- A good understanding of workplace safety standards and preventive maintenance systems.

- Proficiency in spoken and written English and Kiswahili.
