SUMMARY
OVERVIEW
- The Accounts & Grants Assistant supports effective financial management at the Country Office by ensuring accurate financial recording, timely reconciliations, compliance with Plan International policies, donor regulations, and statutory requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reports to Finance Manager – Input & Control.
- Supports financial operations for the Country Office and contributes to the financial management of grants and donor-funded projects.
- Maintains financial records, reconciliations, and supporting documentation in SAP and other financial reporting systems.
- Works closely with Supply Chain, Programmes, People & Culture, Project Finance teams, and National Offices.
- Supports compliance with Plan policies, donor regulations, tax laws, and other statutory requirements.
- Contributes to monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
- Supports audit preparedness and timely resolution of audit findings.
- Maintains custody and accountability of petty cash, financial documents, and other sensitive financial instruments.
- Supports financial data quality and reporting accuracy for management decision-making.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in finance and accounting, preferably within an NGO or donor-funded environment.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Basic Power BI/reporting exposure is an added advantage
- Excellent communication skills appropriate to the audience
- Proficient Computer skills and use of relevant accounting packages
- Ability to work under harsh condition
- Ability to work under multidisciplinary and multicultural environment
- Good English language skills (oral /written)
