**Senior Recovery Officer at Equity Bank Tanzania Limited**

**Overview**
• Management of defaulted borrowers by devising strategies to ensure maximum recoveries/collections.
• Ensuring that recovery actions are done timely and cost effectively to maximize the bank profit.

**Key Responsibilities**
• Review customers` cases and devise strategy to enable the bank to maximize loan collection.
• Advising supervisor and or bank management on the best recovery strategies.
• Review and visit collaterals for defaulted customers and respectively strategize recovery action/route for each collaterals/customers.
• Institute recovery action on all defaulted accounts as and when required.
• Timeous and adequate actioning of all accounts in terms of recovery strategy to ensure maximization of recoveries and hitting the agreed target.
• Develop recovery actions for each account under his/her portfolio and follow up implementation of the actions to ensure maximum recovery are made in line with the bank budget/target.
• Identify accounts with settlement and follow the laid procedure to ensure settlement is reached.
• Mentoring and supervising of junior staff
• Ensure recovery actions are made according to the laid down bank policy, procedure and governing laws.
• Timely follow up with external collection agents (Auctioneers/Debt Collectors) to ensure fulfilment of the assigned duties.
• Provide weekly and monthly report on progress of Recovery, Projections for recoveries and number of recoveries made within the specific time as required.
• Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory and supervisory requirements, to protect the reputation of the Bank and to avoid legal action/sanction or consequential losses in respect of regulatory and operational compliance matters
• Adhere to Bank policies and procedures.
• Timeously refer all insurance claims, retrenchments, disabilities, deceased, and insolvencies, tracing matters, investigation matters and recommended repossession action to the supervisor.

**Requirements**
• The position requires a holder of a Bachelor`s degree in any of the following fields: Law, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or any other related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in a similar role in a reputable financial institution.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
