**Overview**
• Lumac Tanzania is a leading premium windows and balustrades company in Tanzania.
• The company is seeking a detail-driven Accountant to join its growing Finance Department.
• The Accountant will play a central role in sustaining the company`s financial integrity and operational excellence.
**Key Responsibilities**
• **Financial Records & Bookkeeping**
• Record, verify, and post all daily financial transactions.
• Maintain a complete and well-organized filing system for accounting source documents.
• Ensure all entries are made within the appropriate accounting period.
• Maintain fixed asset registers, depreciation schedules, and inventory ledgers.
• Review and verify petty cash transactions and reconcile the petty cash fund regularly.
• **Bank Reconciliation & Cash Management**
• Perform timely and thorough monthly bank reconciliations.
• Manage and reconcile the company`s cash inventory.
• Maintain ongoing correspondence with banking institutions.
• Monitor daily cash flow and flag any unusual variances or cash shortfalls.
• Ensure proper custody and control of cash, cheques, and payment instruments.
• **Accounts Payable & Receivable**
• Monitor, process, and execute timely payments to creditors and suppliers.
• Maintain a complete and current creditor schedule.
• Issue, track, and follow up on client invoices.
• Reconcile all accounts payable and accounts receivable ledgers monthly.
• Liaise with Sales and Service departments to ensure accurate client invoices.
• Prepare and monitor ageing reports for debtors and creditors.
• **Tax Compliance & Regulatory Obligations**
• Ensure all financial transactions and invoices comply with Tanzanian tax laws.
• Prepare and file accurate and timely monthly VAT returns and withholding tax returns.
• Cross-check all supplier and client invoices against applicable tax rules.
• Monitor changes in Tanzanian tax legislation and regulatory requirements.
