**Job Title: Safety Officer**

**Overview**
• Join the Barrick Africa and Middle East Team as a Safety Officer

**Key Responsibilities**
• Assist in implementing the NMGML Occupational Health and Safety Management System at North Mara Mine
• Assist in implementing ISO 45001:2018 standard at NMGML
• Ensure all North Mara Mine activities comply with Company Safety and Health Standards and applicable legislative requirements
• Provide visible and high-level Safety support to all North Mara Departments and Business Partners/Contractors
• Maintain the nine elements of Barrick Safety and Health Management System at North Mara Mine
• Ensure site equipment maintenance and monitoring via a comprehensive system
• Facilitate Baseline/Formal Risk Assessment, JHA, FLRA processes and promote a risk management culture
• Conduct regular safety inspections and assist in accident/incident investigations
• Develop and facilitate safety training packages
• Provide daily feedback reports and prepare safety statistics
• Conduct regular safety observations and provide safety coaching
• Liaise with other sections within the Department to ensure integrated operation
• Attend departmental safety related meetings and ensure timely follow up of incident and other safety related corrective actions

**Requirements**
• Bachelor`s degree/Diploma in Occupational Health System (OHS)
• NOSHC certificate/NEBOSH Certificate
• Certificate III/IV on Occupational Health and Safety
• Minimum of 3 years mining experience preferably from process plant
• Decisiveness, ability to hold other employees accountable, and ability to show initiative and take responsibility for safety programs
• Working knowledge of Safety and Health Management Systems and ISO 45001:2018
• Experience in accident/incident investigation and reporting
• Possession of valid Tanzania driver`s license and having Driver`s competency
• Good written and oral communication skills in English and Kiswahili languages
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
