**Job Title: Boarding Parent**
**Overview:**
We are seeking qualified and passionate Boarding Parents to join our team at The School of St Jude, a pioneering leader in charitable education within Africa. As a Boarding Parent, you will be responsible for supervising and managing students` welfare and discipline in the boarding environment.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Guide and supervise students at all times, ensuring they follow rules, routines, and study schedules.
- Promote and organize extracurricular activities and create a positive, family-like atmosphere in the boarding house.
- Ensure students are neat, punctual, respectful, and well-prepared for all school activities.
- Uphold safety, security, and child protection procedures while reporting and following up on any issues promptly.
- Actively participate in meetings and trainings to improve your skills and contribute to the boarding team.
- Serve as a good role model by demonstrating good discipline, commitment, and care towards all students.
**Requirements:**
- Tanzanian citizen with a minimum Diploma in Psychology/Social Work/Education/Community Development from an accredited institution within East Africa.
- Minimum of five (5) years` experience in an educational related field as a Boarding Parent (Matron).
- Empathy for children`s needs and feelings.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- High level of confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Willingness to work overnight.
- Ability to adapt to our school`s diverse Policies and Procedures.
- Mature and experienced person with not less than 35 years of age to provide parental care to teenagers.
- Ability to handle and report safeguarding concerns promptly and professionally.
- Proven nursing/psychology/boarding school leadership background is an added advantage.
