Summary
**Overview**
The Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT is seeking a Senior Research Associate to be based in Arusha, Tanzania. The successful candidate will coordinate project management, support crop value chain actors, and conduct research in Tanzania and other African regions.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Support project coordinator in overseeing and monitoring experiments and protocols
- Collaborate with the project team to develop strategies for accelerating adoption of OPV crop cultivars
- Support gender mainstreaming and lead fieldwork in rural communities
- Develop digital tools to guide decisions on new cultivar adoption and varietal turnover
- Strengthen external partnerships for scientific research
- Contribute to data collection, analysis, and reporting
- Foster network and coordination with NARES partners and private entities
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the Pan African Bean Research Alliance (PABRA) team
**Requirements**
- MSc degree in agricultural science, agricultural extension, social science, or related field
- Understanding of seed systems and partnerships for agricultural programs in developing countries
- Excellent social skills and experience working with rural communities
- Experience with qualitative and quantitative data analysis and management
- Familiarity with digital tools and innovations in agriculture
- Experience working with NARES and smallholder farmers is a plus
- Knowledge of human-centered design, design thinking, and digital agriculture tools is a plus
- Excellent English writing skills and proficiency in other languages (e.g., Kiswahili and local languages) is a plus
