COMPETENCIES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Education / Qualifications
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in nursing (Registered Nurse)
- Valid nursing registration with relevant professional council Experience (Essential)
- At least 3 years’ experience in clinical nursing practice
- Experience working with vulnerable populations, including older people, people with disabilities, or people with chronic or serious illnesses
- Experience in humanitarian, refugee, or low-resource settings preferred
Skills and Knowledge
- Strong skills in holistic and person-centred nursing care
- Knowledge of chronic disease management, disability care, and basic palliative care principles
- Ability to provide compassionate psychosocial support
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work in challenging humanitarian environments
Desirable
- Training or experience in palliative care, integrated care, or community/home-based care
- Experience working in refugee camps or emergency settings
- Knowledge of protection, safeguarding, and referral systems
- Ability to speak Kiswahili; Kirundi is an added advantage
