COMPETENCIES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Education / Qualifications

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in nursing (Registered Nurse)
• Valid nursing registration with relevant professional council Experience (Essential)

  
  

  • At least 3 years’ experience in clinical nursing practice
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations, including older people, people with disabilities, or people with chronic or serious illnesses
  • Experience in humanitarian, refugee, or low-resource settings preferred

  Skills and Knowledge

  • Strong skills in holistic and person-centred nursing care
  • Knowledge of chronic disease management, disability care, and basic palliative care principles
  • Ability to provide compassionate psychosocial support
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work in challenging humanitarian environments

  Desirable 

• Training or experience in palliative care, integrated care, or community/home-based care
• Experience working in refugee camps or emergency settings
• Knowledge of protection, safeguarding, and referral systems
• Ability to speak Kiswahili; Kirundi is an added advantage
