MINIMUM ORGANIZATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

 

Education


Advanced university degree (master’s or equivalent) in economics, agricultural-economics, engineering, international relations, business administration or other discipline closely related to industrial development is required.

 

Experience

 At least five (5) years of progressively responsible professional experience in the field of industrial sustainable development, with special emphasis on private sector development is required.

  • Experience in technical cooperation, including project and programme coordination, monitoring and evaluation is required.
  • Familiarity with national and international institutional, legal, and procedural frameworks, especially those relevant to the donor community, development actors, and the UN system in Tanzania, is required.
  • Familiarity with the local socio-economic context, including trade and industrialization issues, particularly in regions where UNIDO has operational activities, is required.
  • Proven analytical and communication skills are required.
  • Experience in evaluating the needs, challenges, and growth opportunities in Tanzania or other developing countries in the region is desirable.
  • Experience working with or within the United Nations system and/or government institutions is desirable.

 

Language

Fluency in written and spoken English and Kiswahili is required.  Fluency or working knowledge of other official UN languages is an asset.
