Iringa Water Supply and Sanitation Authority
(IRUWASA) is a Government Institution which has the duty of providing potable
water and sanitation services at affordable prices to the residents of Iringa
Municipality for enhancing their health and quality of life.  In order to achieve the compact objectives,
IRUWASA now seeks applications from suitably qualified Tanzanians who are self-motivated,
hardworking, honest and committed to their work to fill the following positions:
-



 



1.0      Senior Engineer                  -           (1 Post)



 



The successful candidate will report to the Head of Internal Audit Unit



 



1.1      Duties and
Responsibilities



     
i.           
To assist the Chief Internal
auditor in auditing the process and design of water   network and sewerage network extensions and
provide recommendation for optimal results.



   
ii.           
To review the design of
treatment facilities, pumping stations, reservoirs, distribution and collection
systems and confirm designs using modeling techniques.



 
iii.           
To review engineering
reports, drawings and specifications for water and waste water projects
including prepared technical specifications for goods.



 
iv.           
To review project financial
proposals.



   
v.           
To review water supply and
waste water infrastructure and prepare summary report of findings regarding
cost estimates for repair and maintenance of assets.



 
vi.           
To review the prepared
operation and maintenance manual for both water supply and sanitation systems.



vii.           
To review facility start
ups, operator training process and equipments troubleshoots.



viii.           
To review designs, drawings,
cost estimates for repair and bills of quantities for both new developments and
rehabilitation works and give recommendations.



  
ix.           
To review, cross-check and
vet technical and financial proposals.



    
x.           
To review the design and
construction works to ensure that the designs and quality of works are in line
with National and International Standards.



  
xi.           
To review periodic work
sites inspections to determine adherence to project objectives, works
standards, and safety practices.



 xii.           
To conduct Value for Money
Audit for projects under construction.



xiii.           
To prepare weekly,
monthly and quarterly review reports.



xiv.           
Perform any other related duties
as may be assigned by the Supervisor.



 



 



1.2           
Qualifications Age
Limit
and Working Experience



                                
i.           
Holder of Bachelor Degree or
Advanced Diploma qualifications in Civil and Water Resources, Civil and
Structural, Environmental, Sanitation or Water Resources Engineering from a
recognized Institution who has 3 years of working experience in a relevant
field.



                              
ii.           
Must be registered by the
Engineers Registration Board of Tanzania.



                            
iii.           
Computer competence in
engineering packages will be an added advantages.



                            
iv.           
Effective verbal and written
communication skills in both English and Kiswahili.



                              
v.           
Age
between 30 and 45 years.

2.0      ASSISTANT
CUSTOMER CARE OFFICER 
     -     (1 POST)



           



The successful candidate
will report to th
e Head of Customer
Care Section



 



2.1      Duties and Responsibilities



                             
i.              
To assists
in receiving and attending customers’ complaints and channel them to the
respective departments for further action.



                           
ii.              
To assists
in making follow-ups of customers’ complaints received and ensure that proper
and timely remedial action is taken to provide the required services.



                         
iii.              
To assists
in distributing publications and brochures bearing Authority’s business
information.



                         
iv.              
To assist
in ensuring all identified and approved vulnerable groups/people such as the
poor are provided with free water service.



                        
v.                 
To assist
in ensuring that all new customers are registered to the database with accurate
account information.



                      
vi.                 
To assists
in making sure that all authorized water reconnections are carried out on time
as per Customers Service Charter.



                    
vii.                 
To assists
in making timely follow up of customers’ queries received by the Authority
until their final settlement.



                  
viii.                 
To
develop individual performance objectives and targets in consultation with the
immediate superior as part of performance agreement.



                      
ix.                 
To prepare
and submit weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual progress reports for
activities that fall under his/her section.



                     
x.                    
To
make sure that the call center is properly working.



                   
xi.                    
To provide customer service information with regard to
IRUWASA operations.



                 
xii.                    
To identify and escalate priority issues regarding
customer services.



               
xiii.                    
To route calls to appropriate departments.



                  
xiv.                 
To make follow up on customer calls where necessary.



                 
xv.                    
To keep records of all conversations at the call center
database in a comprehensible way.



               
xvi.                    
To complete call logs.



             
xvii.                    
To
perform other related duties as may be assigned by the respective Supervisor.



 



 



1.2      Academic Qualifications and Age Limit



(i)        Holder of Diploma or Ordinary
Diploma NTA Level 6
in Business
Administration, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Mass Communication, Education from
a recognized Institution.



(ii)       Good interpersonal, communication skills
and computer knowledge.



(iii)           
Age
between 25 and 35 years.

Sales Assistants
- (6 Post)

successful candidate will report to the Head of Sales
Section



 



3.1      Duties and
Responsibilities



 



                                 
i.           
To participate in reading
customer water meters for preparation of water bills.



                               
ii.           
To participate in
distributing water bills to customers as requested by the supervisor.



                             
iii.           
To make follow up of revenue
collection from unsettled water bills.



                             
iv.           
To participate in
monitoring, aging and follow up of long overdue debts.



                               
v.           
To assist the Supervisor in
handling of illegal accounts and following up settlement.



                             
vi.           
To participate in the
implementation of credit policy and procedures.



                           
vii.           
To participate in customers
visitation and monitoring of compliance of credit policy.



                         
viii.           
To make follow up of illegal
connections.



                             
ix.           
To correct customer water
bills wherever necessary.



                               
x.           
To advise the customer on
information relating to their water bills.



                             
xi.           
To keep customer water bill
records.



                           
xii.           
To report any data abnormalities to be found at
customers’ premises



                         
xiii.           
To receive and attend customer complaints and channel

3.2Academic Qualification and

Holder of Form IV/VI
Certificate of Secondary Education and who has attained A Certificate in
Business Administration, Marketing, Procurement and Supplies Management or
Logistics Management, Information Technology, Computer Science, Accounts, Statistics

4.0      ASSISTANT TECHNICIAN GRADE II          (PUMP OPERATOR)           - (1 POST)



The successful candidate will report to the Head
of Water Production, Maintenance and Repair Section.



 



4.1           
Duties and Responsibilities



 



                    
i.                       
To operate water pumps according
to agreed schedules.



                  
ii.                       
To monitor water levels in the
storage water reservoirs.



                
iii.                       
To make and maintain
housekeeping of water pumps, pump houses and their surroundings.



                
iv.                       
To maintain and keep proper
records and reports of pumps performances, faulty water pumps and breakdowns,
electric power failures, and the amount of pumped water at established time
intervals from clean water storage reservoirs.



                  
v.                       
To ensure that the required
dosage of water treatment chemicals
/reagents is administered according to
the required standards.



                
vi.                       
To take meter readings of
electricity and water consumptions at established time intervals.



              
vii.                       
To record pressure gauges
performances at established intervals.



            
viii.                       
To make proper reporting on
water colour changes.



                
ix.                       
To perform other related duties
as may be assigned by the Supervisor.



 



4.2
Academic Qualifications and Age Limit

Holder of Form Four/Six
Certificate with Trade Test/CBeT Grade II/Level II/
  NVA/VCII in
Electrical, Pump Mechanics and Fitter Mechanics or Plumbing from a recognized
learning Institution.



                      
ii.

years.

5.0 ASSISTANT TECHNICIAN
GRADE II (PLUMBER)    -           (1 POST)



 



The successful candidate will report to the Head of Water
Supply Network Section.



 



5.1  Duties and Responsibilities



                    
i.           
   Repairs all
water leakages as detected.



                  
ii.           
   Installs
customers’ water meters.



                
iii.           
   Participates
in rehabilitations of water supply structures.



                
iv.           
   Monitors and
reports unauthorized water connections.



                  
v.           
   Reports water losses, distribution faults
and takes immediate measures to  



   resolve the problems.



                
vi.           
   Carries out
water disconnections of debtors and reconnections after   



   payments.



              
vii.           
   Maintains
proper records of water connections/disconnections and  



   reconnections
carried out.



            
viii.           
   Prepares appropriate tools and
materials
required for execution
of repairs/or  



   new connections.



                
ix.           
   Ensures all
pipes installations, repairs and maintenances are properly  



   aligned.



                  
x.           
   Ensures all
water pipe bursts are properly repaired.



                
xi.           
   Reports
sewerage pipe faults to responsible officers.



              
xii.           
   Prepares
weekly and monthly reports.



            
xiii.           
   Performs
other related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.



 



5.2           
 Academic

6.0      Driver Grade II             -      (2 Posts)



 



     The
successful candidates will report to the Head of Administration Section



 



6.1    Duties and Responsibilities



 



  1. To check the
    functioning of the vehicle engine and other accessories before driving.
  2. To drive properly any type
    of vehicle being assigned.
  3. To ensure that the
    vehicle assigned to him/her is always clean, in good running condition and
    is parked at a safe authorised place with all the tools entrusted to
    him/her.
  4. To undertake vehicle
    services as scheduled.
  5. To report without
    delay any detected fault or defect on the motor vehicle.
  6. To certify that
    repairs and maintenance carried out on the vehicle are of adequate
    standards.
  7. To make sure that
    the vehicle is used only on assigned duties and keeps log book and time when
    he/she is on duty.
  8. To ensure that the
    vehicle is always having necessary items as required by Law, 


     including valid insurance cover, fire
guard/extinguisher, triangle, first aid kit etc.



  1. To maintain
    disciplined behaviour and proper conduct in rendering services to


          his/her officers and other employees in
general.



 



4.2Qualifications and Experience,
Age Limit



  1. Holder of Form IV or
    VI Certificate.
  2. A valid class “C”
    driving license issued by relevant Authority.
  3. The person must have
    driving training certificate from National Institute of Transport (NIT).
  4. Possession of Trade
    Test Grade II in Motor Mechanics from the Vocational Education Training
    Authority (VETA), Chuo Cha Ujenzi or
    National Institute of Transport will
    be an added advantage.
  5. The person must have
    at least one year working experience.
  6.  Age limit between 25 and 35 years.
